LIVE on Elgin & Collective Arts Brewing Present: Mosely & Texas King! With Special Guest Weird With Cats

April 28th 220 Elgin st. 2nd Floor Doors at 8:00pm| Showtime at 8:30pm $10 Advanced | $13 at the door All-ages/19+

Mosely: Mosely’s “Echoes” is the highly anticipated follow up to their self-titled EP. With less emphasis on public appeal or current musical trends, Mosely’s newest release takes the Alt/Rock group in a more artistic direction. “We made the music we wanted to hear, the music we think needs to be made.” When they aren’t chowing down on tacos, this tight-knit group of seasoned musicians can be found fine-tuning their Halloween costumes or singing karaoke in their beloved home, Ottawa, ON.

Texas King: Texas King formed in 2013 and before long, began earning a reputation for their high-energy rock shows. After tours of Ontario and the east coast of Canada to support a debut EP, October 2017 saw the release of their anticipated full-length album Circles. The albums lead single “Boomerang” generated attention at Canadian radio, most notably at Toronto’s 102.1 The Edge, and led to an appearance on Global TV during their Canadian release tour. It’s often said that Texas King is best experienced when seen, not just heard. Now armed with their hook-filled debut, the band is ready to make their mark in the world of rock music - one rowdy club at a time.

Weird With Cats: Weird With Cats is a messy garage rock attack, on the simple act of story telling. Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, the band is made up of a mix of long-time friends, as well as new friends, Weird With Cats has evolved from a light-hearted folk band to a punch-you-in-the-teeth rock band.

With Special Guests Jessie Brown, and Mosely (unplugged).

Jessie Brown: Luring you in with her powerful and expressive voice, Jessie Brown is a siren perched atop the rocky shores of Halifax, Nova Scotia. With her power trio's dark and moody take on Rock n’ Roll, the band has been dubbed “old music for young people” combining vocal wails reminiscent of Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant or Janis Joplin with distorted, saturated guitar or bass tones from Jason Vautour and rounded out by the thunderous drums of Bobby Webb. Once described as Aretha Franklin singing for Queens Of The Stone Age, this Doom Soul trio will entice you to shore, crush your expectations, and keep your heart as a souvenir. https://jessiebrown.bandcamp.com/

New Design, Riverbeds, Mosely, + More

Flapjack's Pancake Shack, 354A Preston St., Ottawa

The Indie Scene brings in Riverbeds from Montreal and New Design from Brampton to Ottawa. This will be a PACKED Pancake Party at one of the most delicious spots in the nations capital. Joining the bill is alt/indie rockers Mosely, the punk kids in The Weak Attractions, Pop Punkers Remember The Arcadians and NEW Ottawa Pop Punk band High Regard (first show).

New Design // Making the music they wanted to hear and being too good to be ignored were the main goals for Jeffrey Lee, Joseph Angilletta, Melissa Angilletta and Zachary Cattapan when forming alternative rock act New Design in the suburbs of Brampton, Ontario in 2008. The band’s growing list of influences come from a variety of genres, but the atmosphere and emotion of post-rock and emo-rock served as the common link that brought the members together.

Riverbeds // Riverbeds was formed in late 2010 as a reunion of four like-minded young men, with over 25 years of combined experience in the Quebec independent rock scene. The group aligns introspective post-rock soundscapes with captivating grooves, building up to deafening post-hardcore explosions.

Mosely // Mosely is a high-energy alternative rock band based out of Ottawa, Canada comibing influences from everything from Thrice to Kings of Leon - this band is sure to make you dance and feel things all at the same time.

The Weak Attractions // Rising from the ashes of their previous skate punk outfit, Murder State, Ottawa's Lukas Beneteau-Forgues and Bryan Thomas teamed up with Scott Martin to deliver their own brand of loud, fast, self-deprecating rock and roll music. The Weak Attractions aim to deliver music that is as honest, heartfelt and melodic as it is hard-hitting. The band is currently recording a follow-up to 2015's New Disease EP

Remember The Arcadians // Remember the Arcadians is a Pop Punk/Emo four-piece from the Ottawa area. In a dimly-lit Stittsville basement, they write songs from the heart that are inspired by high school experiences and troubles. The band was first formed in the early spring of 2015. Members Nolan Struss and Kevin Sernoskie recruited Ryan Fitz and Ryan Dempsey to play a few casual covers. Friendships strengthened and the band became a large part of the members' lives and focuses. They have released a single and are planning to release much more in the band's future.

High Regard // Brand new pop punk from the 613.
